ILLUSTRATED CRIMES – THE SHOT IN ROOM 104 –

Illustrated Crimes was the gamebook of the moment during the COVID pandemic lockdown. It gave us many enjoyable hours and sharpened our wits. Later I bought the book, and I liked it so much that I decided to try bringing its first case to the computer of my childhood, the one that still brings me so much joy today. Ported to the ZX Spectrum, this isn’t a game in the usual sense; instead, I have (humbly) tried to recreate it as if we had the gamebook right in front of us. Grab a pencil and paper, write down the clues, deduce, and solve the case.

If you press “7” in the main scene, you’ll get additional clues to help you solve the case. They might help clear up any doubts.

When you think you’ve cracked the case, you can use the second load to watch a full reconstruction of the events and check whether you solved the mystery correctly.
