MSXdev25 #31 Lucky Luke

Title: Lucky Luke

Genre: Action shooter
Author(s): Jelle Roggen
Medium: Disk 720KB
Hardware requirements: MSX2, MSX-Music

Even though the legendary cowboy shoots faster than his own shadow, it allegedly took three decades to finally bring Lucky Look’s adventure to light. All the more reason for us to be proud to welcome it to the MSXdev25 lineup. This title is a full‑fledged MSX2 game accompanied by classic MSX‑Music that sets the perfect Western mood.

Games that offer a first‑person perspective on the action – in the spirit of Operation Wolf – are a rare sight on the MSX platform. That makes this entry, simply called Lucky Luke, all the more noteworthy.

The author, Jelle Roggen, drew inspiration from the arcade classic Blood Brosback in the nineties and set out to recreate its mechanics on the MSX. Then life intervened, and the project spent three decades gathering dust.

Until now.

Revived, completed, and finally unveiled, it stands as a testament to long‑lasting passion and perseverance. This MSX2 title makes full use of the mouse, enabling quick and decisive action. Aim, fire, and take down your targets with precision
